I would like to thank Apoorva for tagging me, she’s awesome! Here it is:
What is your favourite genre?
Oooh, this is a tough one. Let me see- NOT HORROR! I don’t mean to hate on you horror readers, you are brave! But I prefer not to read about blood, guts, gore or even ghosts! Sometimes I think my overactive imagination can be a bad thing haha 🙂
Who is your favourite author from genre?
Ugh, I guess picking one genre would have made this easier. I don’t have one favourite but at the moment I think Rainbow Rowell and Amy Alward.
What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back?
I read rom-com books because they’re cute and funny. I read sci-fi because it’s cool to think about what sorts of technology will exist in the near or far future. YA reads are just really fun to read and it’s a really diverse genre. I love books that begin with speech, they just grab you!
What book started your love for that genre?
I have been reading since I could flip a board book with my tiny fingers, I don’t know what books attracted me to a certain genre.
If you had to recommend at least one book from your favourite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start reading that genre, what book would you choose and why?
I don’t know if this belongs to a specificgenre, but I remember reading a book called “Dreamer Ballerina” by Sarah Rubin. It’s a heart-warming tale about a girl called Casey Quinn who loves to dance. There’s no way that her family will ever be able to afford proper lessons. But when her rival, a certain Miss Priss challenges Casey’s ability to leap and twirl, she just knows she has to get into ballet school. But can she make it all the way to New York and prove that she’s got grace? The book is set in the 1960s (I think) but there’s no reason why it’s not a good read today.
Why do you read?
I know it sounds cliché, but reading is kind of an escape for me. In books, you can go anywhere, meet anyone and be anything you choose. Whenever I re-read a book I think to myself that I’m visiting old friends or going back to somewhere I’ve already been. When the real world sucks and imaginary worlds are so much more… More! I guess books are always there for me. It helps me calm down and stop thinking. If I’m upset or confused I can always get lost into the pages of a book and I know that when I leave, I’ll be ready to face anything.
That was my first bookish post in ages! What do you guys think?
Peace✌️, Love💜 and Noodles🍜
