Today’s theme is Kindness. We all like to think we are kind but when it actually comes down to it, many of us don’t do as much as we could. We tell ourselves that we are too busy, that someone else will come along.
But the harsh reality is that if everyone ignores a chance to be kind then nobody will help. They are all sure that somebody else will do it. Why then, when we tell ourselves a problem such as homelessness will sort itself out, are we never one hundred percent sure? Why do we feel a twinge of guilt when we see people on the street? Why don’t we do more to help? I don’t want to live that way. I am also sure that nobody else does.
So who’s stopping you then? When you think about helping and convince yourself that you aren’t fit for the job, who is there to tell you that you can’t? You are holding yourself back. It is natural to want to look after ourselves first. But talking care of our own needs and being selfish are two different things.
Even if you can’t spare your time you could always donate canned goods and packed foods to your local homeless shelter. The biting cold is surely one of the worst things about winter. If you have any extra clothes that you don’t wear why not donate them? You could smile at people who walk past you, even if they aren’t homeless. We are all human and we have our separate lives. Who knows how tough someone else’s day has been? Just you grinning at them could turn it all around and make them feel better.
Christmas is a wonderful time of year. But for many people it can seem like a reminder that they are less fortunate and they feel lonely and left-out. Feeling like that is the worst! Let’s work together and make everyone feel included. It doesn’t matter how much you give, as long as you are sincere in your intention. If you give a little bit, it will make you feel so warm inside.
That’s all I have today. Spread the love and get in the Christmas spirit!
Peace✌️, Love💜 and Noodles🍜
